South Siders Dealing with Rising Gas Costs
Chicago’s gas prices rank among the highest in the nation, and low-income drivers on the South Side are being hit harder with prices even higher than surrounding areas of the city, according to an analysis of data on ChicagoGasPrices.com.

The LINK card allows underprivileged people to shop at for fresh foods like at the 61st Street Farmer's Market (right). The card works much like food stamps but allows people to scan the card at the outdoor markets along with grocery stores.
